We; meaning Jennifer (daughter) and Joan (mother), raise Chihuahuas together. We started out with a few females as pets. Once we really got to know the breed we decided we wanted to breed them and share the joy of the breed with others. When we buy a dog, we expected a year guarantee on genetics because most problems don't show up until 4 months to 2 years. That is why we give a 3 year guarantee. Our goal is to raise healthy, friendly, long life pets.
The dogs are like our own children and then breeders. Since typical male breeders tend to mark their territory; they have their own room to play in and socialize together. We enjoy every aspect of raising, breeding, and having Chihuahuas and their puppies.
If we feel that breeding a female endangers her life; we would much rather get her spayed. She would then become just a pet. If possible she will be spayed while the vet has her in for the c-section.
Before selling a puppy, we might ask a few questions to help place the right puppy with the right family. We as breeders feel it is very important for the new parents to understand everything they must, to enjoy their new addition to the family. Having a new puppy to train can be very eventful; just like any baby!
It is very important to be patient when training a chihuahua. They can take longer to potty train; some Chihuahuas take up to a year to be fully trained. Yet some train as early as 12 weeks old. EACH puppy is different. We are happy to answer any questions you have on training.
Chihuahuas tend to be a little stubborn and bull-headed. If bred and raised properly; this can at least be held at a minimum. Not every home is the correct placement for a Chihuahua. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
For this reason, all of our puppies are socialized from day one. We get them use to being around other animals by introducing them to our cats and the rest of our girls. Once they start walking around well enough, they come out to play with the family. At this point we also start the process of training them to paper. All our females are trained to paper; so they see their mommies using it and that helps them to learn to do the same.
